Why Us, Why Now?

Bill Fetty

We support the US. The mighty, mighty US.

: to agree with or approve of (someone or something)

In this case, the US men's national team on their quest to continue climbing the ranks of soccer powers worldwide. To play a style that represents the best nature of our country. To work hard, then harder still, for everything they stand for.

: to show that you approve of (someone or something) by doing something

We do this by standing up and singing, chanting, drumming, and whatever else it takes to make a homefield advantage within the spirit of fairplay for our team because we love 'em. And that's the way we like it.

: to give help or assistance to (someone or something)

And when the chips are down, unfair calls, unlucky breaks, and seemingly overpowering opposition, that is when we step up most with our full-throated support urging our players to make just one more pass, one more tackle, one more shot to get one more goal than the other team on any given day.

:  to hold up or serve as a foundation or prop for

Our fellow US fans, our players, our coaches, and everyone around the world who follows US soccer - we see ourselves as both a prop and the foundation for their continued success.

:  to keep from fainting, yielding, or losing courage :  comfort

Through our continuous presence and voice in the stands we aim to keep all US fans on their feet, our team from never yielding, and our players from never losing courage in the face of any and all challengers that face us on the field of play. We aim to provide comfort for our fellow travelers and fans during their matchday experience such as it was given to all of us when we began supporting the National Team.

    :  to keep (something) going

And finally, many of us started supporting the USMNT prior to and during the 1998 World Cup and have continued to do so over the years. As we grow into a footballing nation, we feel it is as important as ever to give folks an option for how they support their national team and to work in conjunction for the greater good of all US fans moving forward. Like our team, we will never stop working for you or going in the right direction.

We hope to see you soon as a Sammer but, most importantly, as a supporter of US Soccer.
